Hemp is grown in many districts of western Nepal at upper-middle altitudes at approximately 1,500-3,500 meters elevation. The majority of cultivation takes place in the more remote regions around 3,000 meters elevation. Darchula, Bajura, Rukum, Bajhang, Dailekh, Rolpa, and Jajarkot are among the districts in western Nepal that produce hemp textiles.
